How do I find and navigate all the PDF tools on mobile and desktop?

Tools are organized into 4 numbered categories at the top of the workspace: 1. Organize & Pages, 2. Edit, Sign & Forms, 3. Convert To / From PDF, and 4. Security, Repair & Optimize. Tap any category to switch toolsets, and on mobile devices, swipe the tool bar left or right to access every tool in that category.

Why do Edit PDF, PDF Forms, Sign PDF, and Advanced Tools have a lock icon?

Tools marked with a lock icon—including Edit PDF, PDF Forms, Sign PDF, Repair PDF, OCR PDF, Protect / Unlock, Redact, Compare, and HTML / EPUB / ZIP / Markdown / PDF-A conversions—are unlocked for all registered accounts across our Free, Pro, and Pro Max plans. Click Sign In or Create Free Account to unlock them immediately.

How do I edit existing PDF text, fill PDF forms, or sign a document online?

In Edit PDF, click or tap any line of existing text on the page to edit or delete it in place, or select Add Text, Whiteout, Highlight, Draw, or Add Image. In PDF Forms, type directly into interactive fields or stamp checkmarks (✓), crosses (✗), radio dots (●), and dates onto flat forms. In Sign PDF, draw, type, or upload your signature and drag it into place with your finger or mouse.

Why does text look larger while I am typing on mobile in Edit PDF or PDF Forms?

On mobile screens, the active text box temporarily displays at a larger, comfortable reading size while you type so you can see your edits clearly without squinting. As soon as you finish typing and tap outside the box, it automatically scales back down to match the exact PDF page proportions—and your downloaded PDF always exports 100% crisp and accurately sized.

How do I merge, split, crop, or remove pages from a PDF?

Select Merge, Split, Remove Pages, or Extract Pages under 1. Organize & Pages, or choose Crop PDF under 2. Edit, Sign & Forms. You can reorder files, rotate pages, stamp unified page numbers, drag custom crop margins, or pick exact page ranges with live visual previews.

How do I convert Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, EPUB, or ZIP files to and from PDF?

Under 3. Convert To / From PDF, convert DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, Apple Pages, ODT, RTF, and CSV documents into print-ready PDFs, or convert PDFs back into editable Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), or Markdown (.md) files. You can also upload or paste code in HTML to PDF, convert eBooks in EPUB to PDF, or combine entire archives in ZIP to PDF.

How do Protect, Unlock, Redact, Compare, Compress, and OCR PDF work?

Under 4. Security, Repair & Optimize, choose Compress to reduce file size, OCR PDF to make scanned pages searchable, Protect PDF to add password encryption, Unlock PDF to remove password restrictions, Redact PDF to drag blackout boxes over sensitive areas on the live preview (or scrub specific words), and Compare PDF to view two PDFs side by side and download a visual difference report.

Are my confidential PDF and Office documents kept private?

Yes. All document processing runs in isolated, encrypted sessions that are automatically wiped immediately after completion—unless you explicitly choose to save your output to your personal Cloud Vault or create a temporary transfer link.
